The body is made up of a connected network of pathways, or meridians. These pathways carry information and signals to the different systems and organs within the human body. Working together, without blockage, allows for optimal health.
“Where there is pain, there is obstruction”
When one of the pathways or organs is blocked the body is knocked off balance which leads to pain. This type of physical disharmony is referred to as a disruption of a person’s Qi (pronounced “chee”). According to eastern medicine, Qi is the vital life force of the body. When your Qi is blocked your whole body is blocked.
Acupuncturists work to diagnose the source or sources of these blockages and focus their therapy on restoring balance and harmony to your body. This is accomplished by placing tiny needles in certain acupuncture pressure points located throughout the body. These pressure points are connected by the meridians. Reducing inflammation and unblocking these pathways restores balance to your Qi and allows you to move pain free.
We understand the importance of listening and strive to truly understand the patient and their needs. Our acupuncturists will use any or all of modalities necessary in order to achieve optimal health. We are passionate about what we do and if there is a condition your dealing with, we want to help.
We also offer Cupping, Gua-sha, and Tui-na massage. We treat patients with chronic pain and conditions such as lower back pain, headaches, neck pain, fibromyalgia, seasonal allergies and infertility. Treatments last an hour and half for an initial visit and an hour for follow up visits.
Acupuncture relies on the premise that emotional and physical wellness go hand in hand. Consequently, acupuncture therapy can be very effective for emotional imbalances that lead to someone experiencing anxiety, depression, insomnia and nervous disorders.
